All brass with a mahogany body, this telescope measures 23 3/4" fully open and 7 5/8” closed.  It is finished in lacquered brass with a mahogany body, the lacquer showing age streaks on the sunshade, and the varnish on the mahogany showing some areas removed.  The eyepiece has a sliding dust shield.  The 1 3/8” front element has an original brass lens cap.  The telescope has very fine optics and dates to the later part of the 19^th century.
