Leitz brass microscope – early 20th century
An early 20th century Leitz brass and black microscope, with serial # 2264102, which dates it to about 1924. It stands 11 3/4" high in closed position. The three-lens turret is equipped with three, original, parfocal brass Leitz lenses: 3 (10x), 6Lg (45x) , and 1/12 oil immersion (100x) n.a. 1.30. All have Leitz original brass canisters painted black. The eyepieces include a 10x and a 6x. There is an Abbe sub-stage condenser with filter holder. All optics are in excellent condition producing clear, sharp images of good contrast. The plano/concave mirror is in excellent condition showing only minor wear. The microscope is equipped with an original Leitz mechanical stage is full working order. Coarse focus is by rack and pinion, fine focus by knobs on both sides of the microscope. The microscope is finished in lacquered brass with a painted black base. The brass finish is 100% with two rub mark s on the barrel, and typical spotting overall. The entire microscope is fine working condition. It comes in a black leatherette case with replacement leather handle. This is a classic model L-10 in very fine, usable condition – as enjoyable to look at as to look through. Item 1311....................on hold |
