Colton - Map of the United States - 1860

A fine map of the United States by Joseph Hutchins Colton from his "Cabinet Atlas" published in 1862.  (The maps are dated 1860.)  The map size is 10 1/2" x 12 3/4".  It is hand colored with a decorative border.  Condition is fine with some age toning.  Colton (1800-1893) published in New York.  His major works included "South America" (1845), "Atlas World" (1855, along with a number of general atlases (1857-84).  The map is sold with double map and frame; shipped without glass.  Overall diminsion of fram is 21 3/4" x 19 1/4".
